Is Senator Obama Pro-Life?
In his response to Cris Wallace of Fox News question about his views on abortion, Senator Barack Obama sounded very much like he was pro-life. This rather shocked me, since he has been portrayed as a defender of women's right to kill their unwanted unborn babies. This prompted me to right the following letter to this presidential candidate:

"Dear Senator Obama,
I watched your interview with Cris Wallace. I am an independent, and have not decided yet how I will vote. In response to a question regarding your view about abortion, you stated that you would have voted for the partial birth abortion ban, had it had a provision for saving the life of the pregnant woman. My question to you is:
Do we need the partial birth abortion procedure in order to save the life of the mother? Don't we have the much better option of saving both the mother and the baby through a common procedure known as Cesarean section?
Have you considered that the objective of the partial birth abortion is to kill the baby, while the goal of the C-Section is saving both the life of the mother and the baby.
So again, before I vote for you, can you explain to me why did you vote against the partial birth abortion when there is a valid alternative for saving the life of the mother without killing a human being?

My Letter to Cris Wallace
I followed my letter to Senator Barack Obama with a similar letter to Crist Wallace of Fox News:

Dear Cris Wallace,
I watched your interview with Senator Barack Obama. I am an independent and have not yet decided who to vote for. You did ask the Senator about his views on abortion, and he stated that he would have voted for the partial birth abortion ban had it had a provision for saving the life of the pregnant woman.
Does his explanation make sense to you? Do we need the partial birth abortion for saving the life of the mother? Don't we have a much safer procedure well known as Cesarean Section which is designed to save both the life of the mother and the baby?
Isn't the goal of the partial birth abortion the killing of a live baby? Are you planning to follow up this interview with the Senator in order to find out the real reason he voted against the partial birth abortion ban? I would ppreciate if you do. I need this information in order to decide who I am going to vote for. I do like Obama, but his pro-abortion postition bothers me a great deal!
