Dramatic & Alarming Discoveries Connected with my Ph.D. Dissertation
by Nic Samojluk
I want to share with you a copy of an E-mail is sent a few minutes ago to all my friends and acquaintances detailing some of the dramatic and alarming discoveries I made after carefully examining the main Seventh-day publications covering the following years: 1970 to 2006.
"To all my friends and acquaintances:
I have some dramatic news to share with you related to the SDA Forum and what I have discovered as a result of the investigation connected with my doctoral dissertation, which was recently finalized and approved by the doctoral dissertation committee at the Andrew Jackson University. This academic goal was reached thanks to God's grace in my spare time by distant learning.
The Topic of the Doctoral Dissertation: The title of the doctoral dissertation was "From Pro-life to Pro-choice: The Dramatic Shift in Seventh-day Adventists' Attitude Towards Abortion."
The Dramatic & Alarming Discoveries: As a result of my investigation of SDA literature published since 1970, I made the following dramatic and alarming discoveries.
- Our leading SDA pioneers, including James White, J.N. Andrews, J.H. Kellogg, and even Ellen White issued the strongest condemnation of the practice of abortion.
- We modern Seventh-day Adventists did lead in the legalization of abortion in the United States of America.
- A survey of Adventist practices in our hospitals revealed that five of them were offering elective abortions.
- One SDA owned and operated hospital was recently described as an "abortion mill" by a leading General Conference official.
- A former president of the General Conference did publicly declare in 1970 that the SDA church was leaning towards abortion because there was much hunger and overpopulation in the world.
- A leading former religious liberty church official still holds today that the unborn has no intrinsic right to life because the baby has not taken its first breath.
- Many leading SDA physicians hold that performing an abortion before the 20th week of pregnancy is akin to removing an appendix, because the unborn baby has not yet developed a higher brain cortex.
- A number of leading Pro-life Adventists have opted to withdraw their church membership as a result of their opposition to our official document entitled "Guidelines on Abortion," which allows for the performance of the so called therapeutic abortion, but which provides no therapy for the doomed unborn baby; and because they reject the "carte blanche" granted our hospitals to draft their own particular guidelines, which has resulted in several of our hospitals offering elective abortions on demand.
- Note: I have taken the time to post the entire doctoral dissertation on the SDA Forum website. Keep reading to get the details!

SDA Forum Links to the Main Pages of the Website: What follows is a list of links to the main pages of the SDA Forum website:
I invite you to visit the last cited page above, examine my doctoral dissertation, and decide whether we SDA Adventists still deserve to be called "God's Remnant Church" on earth with the "last message for a perishing world" and keeping "God's Commandments" one of which forbids shedding the blood of innocent human beings. The main question to decide is: are the unborn human beings, and are they guilty of any crime deserving the ultimate and irreversible penalty: death? Is it fair to grant life to the sexual predator while denying the same right to the innocent victim?
May the good Lord richly bless you in your daily life!

Response to "Adventism in Decline"
by Nic Samojluk
If you receive the "Adventist Today" magazine, you might have read David Newman's editorial in their latest September/October issue. It deal with the fact that in North America Adventism is in decline, except for the Adventist immigrants who are helping to preserve a relatively stable church membership. Newman asked readers for feedback regarding this anomalous situation. I want to share with you what I wrote to him today.
"Dear David Newman,
In your recent editorial you wondered about the reasons for the unique situation in North America where, "if it were not for immigrant churches, Adventism would be losing members," and you invited readers to write back with possible solutions to this serious growth problem dilemma.
It seems to me that the answer should be rather obvious, and it is made up of two components: a natural and a spiritual one. The natural explanation is very simple. Studies have shown that the incidence of abortion among Adventists is similar to the general population. If we kill our next generation before they have a chance to see the light of day, then of course the natural growth of our membership will be affected. Immigrants tend to come from countries where abortion is discouraged, and they tend to come to our country with those inherited values. The second generation of immigrants are likely to share the values of the general Adventist membership thanks in part to our educational system. If you have any doubt about what I am suggesting, look at what is taking place in Japan, Italy, Germany, and Russia, where a demographic implosion has already began. In Russia, for example, the problem is so serious that Vladimir Putin is now offering incentives for women to carry their pregnancies to term.
The spiritual component is also easy to explain. We have inherited from our Adventist pioneers a high respect for the value of human life. If you read what James White, J.N. Andrews, and others have written about the evil of abortion, you may wonder how in the world we can still claim to be God's Remnant, keeping God's commandments, one of which forbids shedding the blood of innocent human beings. When as a people we decided to justify the slaughter of the unborn, this moral disregard for the value of human life did of course cause a like disregard for the spiritual life of the unsaved, and the missionary zeal of our membership was affected as a consequence. You ended your editorial with the comment that Jews claimed to be Abraham's children as they prepared to crucify their Messiah. Let me suggest that we in turn claim to be God's remnant as we slaughter our next generation of Adventists, forgetting that Jesus stated: "Let the children come to me." How can they come to him if we don't even let them take their first breath? I want to share with you an E-mail I sent today to all my friends and acquaintances which deals with this serious anomalous situation among us:"
